B-4780 Sankt Vith, 4 Zerresweg Alfersteg
RESERVATIONS

The small village of Alfersteg in the “Bärenschweiz” lies where Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg meet. Alfersteg is surrounded by the Our Nature Park on the Luxembourg side, the Eifel National Park on the German side, the High Fens-Eifel Nature Park to the north with Belgium’s highest point at 694 m, and the Belgian Ardennes. A varied climate at almost 400 m allows plenty of activities all year round. We sometimes still get snow in winter, and spring and summer bring pleasant temperatures. The golden autumn turns the forests into an indescribable sea of colour. Rain and fog are part of typical Eifel weather, which in turn gives the region its character and charm.

Thanks to excellent motorway and main road connections in all directions, you can reach interesting regions and cities within a 100 km radius, such as Aachen, Trier, Luxembourg, Bastogne, Eupen, Maastricht or Liège.

The whole region is one big hiking paradise. In recent years, an extensive junction-based hiking network has been developed. With the NodeMapp Hike route planner you can create your own hiking route and find plenty of tips and information about hiking in East Belgium.

The premium long-distance trail Venntrilogie is East Belgium’s newest tourist attraction – one you really shouldn’t miss.

If you like an even bigger challenge, you can walk one or two stages of the Eifelsteig, which passes close by.
